TSPA chose Chiva-Som International Academy for CIBTAC training

Mr. Andrew Jacka, President of TSPA, and Mr. Krod Rojanastien, Sales and Marketing Manager of Chiva-Som were interviewed by some print and broadcast media during the opening ceremony of the CIBTAC training for spa therapists.

The Thai Spa Association (TSPA) has chosen Chiva-Som International Academy for the training of spa therapists from Thailand. The 1st batch of training started last August 18 and will end on September 12, 2008. The 1st two weeks were training in Anatomy and Physiology, then Body Massage in the last two weeks. There are 15 spa therapists from around Thailand who enrolled for the 1st batch.

The second batch will be on February 2 to 27, 2009. TSPA has sent the information of 2nd CIBTAC course to TSPA members all around Thailand.

Energy Academy to conduct CIBTAC training for Malaysia

AMSPA EU Program Sub-committee and the selected academy, Energy Academy, have decided to start the CIBTAC course on 15th September 2008. The number of hours required by CIBTAC will be completed within a 2 week time frame and students will then return to their respective spas and complete their case studies and practice skills learnt during the class hours. Students will then return to class on the 3rd of November 2008 to submit their case studies reports and also for a pre-exam course review. The schedule for the CIBTAC examinations will be on the 4th of November 2008.

SAPI announces application for 2nd batch of CIBTAC training

The first batch of spa therapists from the Philippines will complete the CIBTAC training on September 17, 2008. The CIBTAC examinations is scheduled on October 24 with review classes on October 20-22.

With the completion of the first batch of CIBTAC training, the Spa Association of the Philippines (SAPi), has made the announcement for the acceptance of application for the 2nd batch of CIBTAC training on Anatomy & Physiology and Body Massage. Since the Spa Professionals International Development Center (SPIDC) is still the only CIBTAC accredited school in the Philippines, the training will still be held at SPIDC. The 2nd batch will start on January 2009 and will be composed of 27 participants. Interview of said participants will be held on the second week of November 2008.

Update: EU Asia Invest Programme

One of the main activities of the project "Internationalising the Operation of Spas in the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia" is the training of 50 spa therapists in each country in international and European vocational standards, suitable for the employment needs of each region.

CIBTAC trainings in Bali, Philippines and Thailand is now ongoing with Malaysia commencing on September 15. The CIBTAC accredited training institutions have set the dates for the examination of the spa therapists chosen for the 1st batch of training in each countries. CIBTAC trained spa therapists from the Philippines will take the examination on October 24 followed by Malaysia on November 4 and Thailand on November 11.

Some of the benefits of the first 200 CIBTAC trained spa therapists are: a) Distinction of having a CIBTAC qualification which is recognized world wide, b) Improved skills particularly in providing customer service that is of international standards and c) Affirmation skills and increased self confidence, having successfully achieved a qualification that is world renowned.
