Successful 1st batch of CIBTAC training
The 1st batch of CIBTAC training in the Philippines, Bali and Thailand were successful. First to conclude the training were fifteen spa therapists from Thailand last September 12 followed by 23 spa therapists from the Philippines last September 17 and nineteen participants from Bali last September 18.
The three countries are now preparing for the CIBTAC examinations by conducting review classes. For the Philippines, the CIBTAC examination will be on October 24 with review classes on October 20-22 while Bali will have the examination on October 27 with review classes on October 21-22 and CIBTAC examination for Thailand is on November 11 with review class on November 12. Malaysia on the other hand will finish the training on November 3 with the examination on November 4.
AMSPA started CIBTAC training for spa therapists
The CIBTAC class for AMSPA EU-Asia Invest project began as scheduled on September 15, 2008. The AMSPA board members were present during the 1st half-hour of the class to introduce themselves and to welcome the students. The students from various backgrounds and training experiences were quick to learn from the professional trainers. The total number of CIBTAC participants this year are fifteen spa therapists from around Malaysia.
TSPA announces 2nd and 3rd batches of CIBTAC training course for 2009
The Thai Spa Association (TSPA) had sent the information of the 2nd and 3rd batch of CIBTAC training to its members across Thailand. The information consisted of the information letter, payment details, student information sheet, anatomy & physiology and body massage schedule and details. BSWA promotes EU project
During the Bali Spa and Wellness Association (BSWA) cocktail event end of September at Bulgari Hotels and Resorts, two spa therapists gave their feedback as CIBTAC students who received the scholarship from EU grant for Anatomy & Physiology and Body Massage courses. One good point mentioned by one of the students was to make sure that the next candidates will be those who are willing to learn and have high motivation.
BSWA also had a meeting with the Bali Hotel Associations and the Tourism school to promote the EU-Asia Invest grant and their upcoming activitites.
Update: EU Asia Invest Programme
One of the main outputs of the EU Asia-Invest project is the training of 1,000 spa therapists in each country. The CIBTAC-trained spa therapists will conduct the in-house cascade training on European techniques to at least 20 spa therapists in each spa establishment using a comprehensive training manual.
The training manual for spa therapists has been developed to help the CIBTAC therapists/trainers conduct the in-house training for their colleagues on European techniques of Body Massage which they have learned from their CIBTAC classes. The manual is meant to ensure consistency in content and method in what is being taught across the region and will be used as a guide and reference during the Train the Trainers class which the CIBTAC therapists/trainers will undergo .
The in-house cascade training for this year will be conducted in Malaysia on November 5-7, Thailand on November 13 to 15 and Bali will be on November 12-14 while the Philippines will be having their cascade training Januaryof 2009.
