Successful conduct of Cascade Training Train the Trainers Program
The Spa Association of the Philippines, Inc., Association of Malaysian Spas and Thai Spa Association have successfully conducted the Cascade Train the Trainers Program (CTTT) this month of November. The cascade training of trainers were conducted in the Philippines (October 29-31), Malaysia (November 5-7) and Thailand (November 13-15). There was a total of 54 spa therapists trained as trainers from the three countries.
The CTTP is a three day course designed to assist successful graduates of the Asia Invest CIBTAC training program to develop competencies in designing and conducting the Cascade Therapist Training Program (CTTP).
By the end of the 3 -day workshop, the participants were able to: Understand the adult learning process; Appreciate the dynamics underlying a successful training program; Understand the parts of the CTTP Manual; Practice teaching different modules of the CTTP; Enhance their presentation skills and Increase their self confidence in teaching.
BSWA held business meeting with travel agencies
The Bali Spa and Wellness Assocation has conducted a business meeting with the Association of the Indonesia Tours and Travel (ASITA) last November 27 with a total of 45 participants. The meeting included a presentation about the EU Asia-Invest project and its goal to increase European travellers; message from the chairman of ASITA; presentation of some spa members of their sample spa packages; mini massages and door prizes.
Al Purwa, chairman of ASITA, pointed out in his speech that the tourism industry in Indonesia had changed and that they use SPA as an additional value to sell their travel packages. He also congratulated BSWA on receiving the EU grant because the industry needs this kind of assistance. And lastly, he commended BSWA for having members that have products in unique packages which help the tour operators in the promotion of their travel packages.
100% CIBTAC passers for SAPi
All the twenty-four CIBTAC-trained spa therapists from the Spa Association of the Philippines, Inc. passed the CIBTAC examinations held last October 24, 2008. The CIBTAC passers underwent a rigorous one and a half month of training on Anatomy and Physiology and Body Massage at the Spa Professionals International Development Center.
Celebration for the success of the 1 batch was last December 9 during the SAPI General Membership/Learning Session and Christmas Party at Crown Regency Hotel in Makati City, Philippines.
Update: EU Asia Invest Programme
The EU-Asia Invest project team composed of Jomar Fleras, Ellen Aguila and Cherryl Kho conducted monitoring visits last17-25, 2008the following agenda: review the work plan and project implementation; review financial reports, forms and supporting documents and discuss issues and concerns regarding project implementation.
